Nakamura, R. Sasaki (Chuo U.), M. Yamauchi, K. Furuya (Miyazaki U.), K. Yamaoka (Nagoya U.) report on behalf of the MAXI team: The MAXI/GSC nova-alert system triggered a bright uncatalogued X-ray transient source at 21:12:55 UT on 2016 August 14. We obtain a rectangular error box for the transient source at the center position of (R.A., Dec) = (136.074 deg, -20.960 deg) = (09 04 17, -20 57 36) (J2000) with the following corners: (136.030, -21.250) deg = (09 04 07, -21 14 59) (J2000) (135.790, -21.121) deg = (09 03 09, -21 07 16) (J2000) (136.304, -20.423) deg = (09 05 12, -20 25 23) (J2000) (136.542, -20.552) deg = (09 06 10, -20 33 08) (J2000) There is an additional systematic uncertainty of 0.1 deg (90% containment radius). The X-ray flux averaged over the scan was 413 +- 40 mCrab (4.0-10.0keV, 1 sigma error). There was no significant excess flux in the previous transit at 19:40 and in the next transit at 22:45 UT with an upper limit of 20 mCrab for each. //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// TITLE: GCN CIRCULAR NUMBER: 19800 SUBJECT: Konus-Wind observation of GRB 160814A DATE: 16/08/16 14:42:54 GMT FROM: Anna Kozlova at Ioffe Institute A.Kozlova, S. Golenetskii, R.Aptekar, D. Frederiks, P. Oleynik, M. Ulanov, D. Svinkin, A. Tsvetkova, A.Lysenko, and T. Cline on behalf of the Konus-Wind team, report: GRB 160814A, localized by MAXI/GSC (Kawakubo et al., GCN 19793) was detected by Konus-Wind in the waiting mode. The burst light curve shows a double-peaked structure, started at ~T0(MAXI)-70.3 s with a total duration of ~ 71 s. The K-W light curve of this burst is available at http://www.ioffe.rssi.ru/LEA/GRBs/GRB160814A/ As observed by Konus-Wind, the burst had a fluence of 5.5(-0.3,+0.7)x10^-6 erg/cm2 and a 2.944-s peak flux, measured from ~T0(MAXI)-11.4 s, of 4.3(-0.6,+0.8)x10^-7 erg/cm2/s (both in the 20 - 1000 keV energy range). Modeling the K-W 3-channel time-integrated spectrum (from ~T0(MAXI)-70.3 s to ~T0(MAXI)+0.4 s) by a simple power-law model yields a power law index of -2.2(-0.1,+0.1), chi2=1.3/1 dof. All the quoted errors are estimated at the 1 sigma confidence level. All the presented results are preliminary. //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// TITLE: GCN CIRCULAR NUMBER: 19816 SUBJECT: GRB 160814A: CALET Gamma-Ray Burst Monitor detection DATE: 16/08/17 23:23:59 GMT FROM: Takanori Sakamoto at AGU M. L. Cherry (LSU), A. Yoshida, T. Sakamoto, Y. Kawakubo, M. Moriyama, Y. Yamada (AGU), K. Yamaoka (Nagoya U), S. Nakahira (JAXA), I. Takahashi (IPMU), Y. Asaoka, S. Ozawa, S. Torii (Waseda U), Y. Shimizu, T. Tamura (Kanagawa U), W. Ishizaki (ICRR), S. Ricciarini (U of Florence), P. S. Marrocchesi (U of Siena) and the CALET collaboration: The long-duration GRB 160814A (Kawakubo et al., GCN Circ. 19793; Kozlova et al., GCN Circ. 19800) triggered the CALET Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (CGBM) at 21:12:42.39 on 14 August 2016. The burst signal was seen by all CGBM instruments. Because of a problem in one of the ground alert processing computer, the GCN notice was not distributed automatically for this event. The light curve of the SGM shows two episodes. The first weak episode starts from T-60 sec, peaks at T-55 sec and ends at T-50 sec. The second episode starts from T+1 sec, peaks at T+3 sec and ends at T+12 sec. The T90 duration measured by the SGM data is 10 +- 1 sec (40-230 keV). The light curve is available at http://cgbm.calet.jp/cgbm_trigger/flight/1155244227/ The CALET data used in this analysis are provided by the Waseda CALET Operation Center located at the Waseda University. //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// TITLE: GCN CIRCULAR NUMBER: 21402 SUBJECT: GRB 160814A: Lomonosov BDRG gamma ray discovery DATE: 17/08/01 17:01:35 GMT FROM: Vladimir Lipunov at Moscow State U/Krylov Obs N.L.Dzhioeva, V.V.Bogomolov, S.I.Svertilov, A.M.Amelushkin, V.O.Barinova, M.I.Panasyuk, A.V.Bogomolov, A.F.Iyudin, V.V.Kalegaev, D.Nguen, V.L.
